Fairlop Waters:
  • Barnacle Goose with the non breeding Canada Geese and 4 Greylag Geese on the boating lake (DEH)
Five Oaks Lane Scrubland:
  • 6.30-9am (Daniel E-Hull, Lily E-Hull, Tim Harris, Natalia, Sofia and Amina & Kathy H)
  • 4 Pheasant
  • 2 Kestrel (1 very close up hovering over our heads)
  • 1 singing Skylark
  • pr Pied Wagtail by the stables, where there were also 6 Mistle Thrush (presumably a fledged family)
  • 2 Swift over, and 3 Swallow by the Stables
  • Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker
  • loads of Woodpigeon and Collared Doves
  • lots of singing Song Thrush
  • 3 Cuckoo
  • plenty of Whitethroat including fledged youngsters, pr Blackcap, Chiffchaff, loads of singing Willow Warbler
  • Greenfinch, Goldfinch, lots of Chaffinch
  • male Reed Bunting
  • 12 Yellowhammers! (11 singing males, and 1 female seen)
  • + 1 Muntjack Deer! (DEH)
  • male Garden Warbler singing (and 4th Cuckoo seen) (Tim Harris)
  • another visit at midday by Neil Twyford and Alan Thomas produced:
  • 4 Cuckoo - 2 seen and another 2 heard.
  • 2 Linnet,
  • also: Magpies, Chaffinches, Blue tits - with lots of juveniles around, 3 Chiffchaffs - 1 seen & at least 2 heard singing, Woodpigeons, Collard Doves, Swifts - on site flying low around 10 plus & more high up in sky, Pheasant - Male seen & Female which flew into site plus at least 2 more pheasants heard, Whitethroats - seen & heard.
  • Yellowhammer - 1 female seen plus couple heard.
  • Blackcaps - heard singing.
  • Stock Dove - 1 , Wren, Song Thrush - at least three heard singing, Green woodpecker, Blackbird - Male, Willow Warbler - heard singing, Great tits - family moving together through shrubs, Dunnock, Robin
  • Swallows - 2 seen flying around site
  • Jays - 2 seen, Jackdaws, Feral pigeon - 1 over.
  • Great Spotted Wood pecker - 1 seen.
  • Kestrel - 1 male seen hunting on top of hill.
  • Greenfinch
  • Starlings - a flock of 50 to 100 in field at back of hill.
  • Moorhen - on Five oaks lane which came out of a ditch at side of lane when Neil & I were the leaving site. (AThomas)

Valentines Park:

  • Great Crested Grebe still on nest (GWare)
  • Today I went to Valentines Park with my Dad, here are my sightings:
  • Robin, Chaffinch, Carrion Crow, Wood Pigeons, Green Woodpecker, A pair of Greater-spotted Woodpeckers flying over my head to a tree, Jay, Great-crested Grebe, Coot families, Moorhen families, Mute Swans (Boating Lake & Long Water), 2 Lesser Black-backed gulls, Tufted Ducks, Pochard, The Grey Herons (2 in nest and one single by the water, presumably the other youngster) Egyptian Goose, Canada geese, Greylag hybrid Goose.
