Little Grebe: Resident Breeding

Little Grebes are resident all year in the borough, and around 10 pairs breed here each year. The best place to see them is Heronry Pond in Wanstead, where up to 12 have been seen on one day. They are also usually present at Valentines Park, South Park and at several locations around Fairlop, where they move from lake to lake and onto the gravel works sites.
