Fairlop Gravel Works:

  • Area D (south side of Painters Road)
  • Shelduck, 1 f Teal, 4 Tufted Duck,
  • 3 adult Lapwing, 1 pair loudly protecting their young (i could only see 1 chick, but i think there were others behind a plant)
  • Redshank, (a 2nd bird was calling from the north side of Painters Road (where the nest site is)
  • 6 Little Ringed Plovers (3 pairs) 2 birds doing broken wing display, but i couldn't locate eggs or young as yet.
  • Cormorant
  • 1 Stock Dove
  • Swallow, 5 House Martin
  • Whitethroat, 3 Linnet
  • fledged Great Tits
Ilford, River Roding:
  • the area west of Ilford Lane (up Bluebell Avenue, and Lavender Place)
  • 3 Whitethroat
  • 6 Blackbird, Dunnock, 3 Wren
  • 5 Moorhen, 1 Coot
South Woodford:
  • Great White Egret (over, north, low) at 11.15am (DEH)

Valentines Park:

  • Grey Heron: all 3 chicks still present (only 2 inthe nest, the other is still on the island)
  • Great Crested Grebe mom still on eggs (GWare)
  • Little Grebe (Boating lake)
  • pr Mute Swan still with 8 cygnets
  • Egyptian Goose preening on the boating lake bank
  • 4 Stock Dove, Woodpigeons, Feral Pigeons, Collared Dove
  • 2 Swift
  • Green Woodpecker
  • 4 Long Tailed Tit, Blue Tit, Great Tit
  • Wren, Robin, Dunnock, Mistle Thrush, Blackbird
  • 6 House Sparrow, Chaffinch, 2 Greenfinch, Goldfinch
  • Pied Wagtail (MCondon)
Barking, River Roding: (just outside the borough)
  • 4 Sand Martin (DEH)
