CORMORANT

Cormorants can be seen at any time of the year 'flying over' or in small numbers on any of the lakes or ponds. In the Autumn numbers swell, and there can be over 100 at Fairlop Waters alone. Non breeding birds especially juveniles are the most likely to be seen during the breeding season.

Continental Subspecies (sinensis)

  • 1 seen in Wanstead Park on 21st March 2009 in full summer plumage.
