Great Crested Grebe: Resident Breeding (common)

Great Crested Grebe numbers fluctuate throughout the year. They are most common at Fairlop Waters where in the late autumn as many as 15 can be seen on the main lake. They spread out a little wider in late winter or early spring and between 1 and 5 pairs breed in the Borough (most likely at Fairlop Waters).
