Pintail: Rare Winter Visitor

Latest Sightings:

2009:

• September 14th, 1 juvenile on the lagoon at Fairlop Waters CP

2004:

• October 3rd, 1 at Fairlop Waters

Historical Information:

• A pair of pinioned Pintail were introduced onto the fish pond in Valentines Park in Autumn 2009, by the end of the year only the female remained, (the male was probably fox-food), however the female is still present as of 10th February 2010
  
• Pintail are reported as having been present (but less than five times) at Hainault Forest pre 2003 by the late Mr. Mike Dennis
