  • Coal Tit - Still present.
  • Sparrowhawk - Seen twice first at 9.20am gliding high around back gardensthen flying further away...Also again at 10.25am a male landed on my patiofloor a couple yards away from my patio door windows trying to catch birdsof guard then flew away.
  • Great Spotted Woodpecker - Immature male present in garden.
  • House Sparrows - Lots around feeders & shrubs/trees around garden.
  • Greenfinches - c12 seen but more in trees.
  • Goldfinch - One adult feeder on nyjer seed feeder.

  • Sparrowhawk - Female seen between 9.20am to 9.30am plucking the feathers ofa immature male sparrow in neighbour's tree until being mobbed by threemagpies which it then proceeded to fly away with the unfortunate victim.
  • Great Spotted Woodpecker - Immature male still present.
  • House Sparrows - Good numbers seen in garden minus one unlucky one.
  • Goldfinch - One adult on main feeder.
  • Greenfinches - c13 mixture of Juveniles & adults in garden.

  • Blue & Great Tits - Good numbers flying around in garden.
  • Chaffinches - Around 10 feeding between various feeders in garden.
  • Plus - 3 Magpies, 4 Starlings, 2 Collard Doves, 3 Robins (2 Juveniles) & 1adult, 1 Female Blackbird, 1 Dunnock, 1 Woodpigeon & 8 Feral pigeons.

Fairlop Waters:
  • Pied Flycatcher!- A Female seen at around about 9.45am feeding a (juvenile) on ground between go karting fenced area in front of the brambles & shrubs and main boating lake until a dog off the lead scared them off and I mean everything else which were in there as well!
  • Hobby - 1 seen flying over hunting around 8.20am over the island on boating lake.
  • Swallows & House Martins - Lots flying around over lake and also by the karting area besides the main centre.
  • Sand Martins - Around 10 I counted but there were more...Too many flying around to get exact amount.
  • Starlings - Hundreds up in the air around lake and also on ground in surrounding dense shrubs.
  • Goldfinches - Adults & juveniles lots in trees & shrubbery near go karting fence area.
  • Tufted Ducks - Around 6 chicks on boating lake by themselves heading towards to side for cover.
  • Swifts - I only managed to see and count 4 in the air above.
  • Grey Heron - 1 seen on boating Island & 1 in the fishing lake.
  • Pied Wagtails - At least 7 seen around sides in front of main centre.
  • Greylag Geese - Two seen on island in boating lake.
  • Gadwalls - I think the count was around seven that were seen.
  • Green woodpecker - Seen flying from field yaffling at the side of fishing lake area.
  • Cormorant - 1 flying over fishing lake.
  • Plus - The usual Coots, Moorhens, Mute Swans & signets & Great crested grebes with some juveniles.
  • Car park area & field beyond car park area & farmers field behind car park area:
  • Kestrel - Male seen hovering then swooping down into grassland.
  • Chiffchaff - Heard in background near car park.
  • Long tailed tits - Many seen in trees & shrubs around car park & boating lake area.
  • Willow warblers - Adults & juveniles lots seen with Blue, Great & Long tailed tit flocks in shrubs & trees.
  • Reed Bunting - A (juvenile) seen on top of shrub showing well.
  • House Sparrows - in shrubs & trees.
  • Stock Doves - Two seen flying over boating lake & couple in riding school area.
  • Pheasant - Male alongside side of farmers field behind car park area.
  • Greenfinches & Chaffinches - Many in shrubs too many to count.
  • Gulls - Lots of different gulls in back of farmers field with crows &

Woodford Green:
  • Exciting stuff - 9.45am. An Osprey over my garden in Woodford Green (being mobbed by gulls). Hope others saw it. (Peter Warne)

  • Osprey - Seen very high over gardens gliding & circling between 9.47am -9.49am which unfortunately I could not get a clear look at even with bins but, the birds in my garden took cover for roughly 10 minutes also I saw about five or six gulls shortly afterwards which looked like they were ganging up.
  • Great Spotted Woodpeckers - One Juvenile & One male present on different occasions.
  • House Sparrows - Quite a number in around garden.
  • Greenfinches - Good mixture of Juveniles & adults in garden.
  • Blue & Great tits - Quite a number as per usual.
  • Plus... 8+ Chaffinches, 3 Magpies, 3 Robins (2 Juveniles & 1 adult) 1 Collared Dove, 1 Dunnock, 1 Female Blackbird, 1 Woodpigeon & 6 Feral pigeons.

  • Greenfinches - Mixture of juveniles & adults roughly about 12 seen.

  • Kestrel - Seen at 8.35am at first hovering then soaring over my back garden& surrounding gardens.
  • Sparrowhawks - Female seen & heard at 9.25am when it announced it's presencewith ke ke kee noise which caused panic amongst gardens birds - Also a Juvenile male seen at 5.28pm after being mobbed by some crows followed bymagpies as back up then finally again at 6.25pm in neighbour's pear treeafter originally coming out from tree in my garden...It hid up to about 15minutes somewhere in neighbour's tree .
  • Great Spotted Woodpeckers - First one is the usual one which is now turning into a male which has been coming for the last five weeks to my garden plus today a new Juvenile complete with red crown feeding on peanut feeder.
  • House Sparrows - Quite a number as usual feeding in around garden.Blue & Great Tits - The usual numbers all over the garden feeding.Greenfinches -
  • Mixture of Juveniles & adults feeding.
  • Robins - Two Juveniles & one adult feeding in garden.
  • Magpies - Four in garden feeding & up to no good.

Woodford Green:
  • Goldfinch family still active on Broadmead Estate

Wanstead Flats:

  • Wood Sandpiper, flushed from south side of Alexandra Lake at 5:50am, flew low east but could not be refound anywhere on the margins. Patch tick for me (basically any wader is a patch tick), well pleased.
  • 185 Canada Geese,
  • female Tufted with 4 ducklings,
  • Tawny Owl calling,
  • Kestrel,
  • 24 Jackdaw,
  • 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker,
  • 5 Green Woodpeckers,
  • 5 Jays (Jonathan Lethbridge)

Bush Wood:

  • male Hobby Calling (JL)

Gants Hill:

  • Alan & Tajinders garden
  • Coal Tit - Still present showing more plumage colour which suggest wasoriginally a juvenile.
  • Juv Great Spotted Woodpecker - Still present (slowly plumage on head is turning black revealing a red spot on back of crown which is a male).
  • Green finches - Juveniles & adults appearing in good numbers in garden.
  • Plus usual array of garden birds in good numbers.

  • Greenfinches - Four Juveniles & Two adults on main feeder.
  • Robins - Two Juveniles in garden.
  • Collared Dove - Sitting in tree & also feeding on ground.
  • Plus other array of garden birds.

Valentines Park:

  • 6 Cormorants on the boating lake in Valentines Park.
  • Also mute swans with 6 cygnets,
  • Grey Heron, Coots, Moorhens, Mallards, Tufted Duck (not many), Canada Geese, Grey Wagtail, Black-Headed Gulls, Blackbird, Blue & Great Tits, Robins (one with young), House sparrows, Chaffinch, Mistle Thrush, Wood Pigeon, Feral Pigeons, Magpies, Carrion Crows. (MSevoir)
