Aldborough Hatch:
  • 98 Waxwings in Spearpoint Gardens at 1pm (Chris Gannaway)
Aldersbrook:
  • 24 Waxwing (17 on Westmorland Close and 7 on Arran Drive at 7.30am (Natalie Benajeh)
  • 37 Waxwing present by 10.30am - then flew west (Jonathan Lethbridge)

Fairlop Waters:

  • 2 Grey Heron
  • Great Crested Grebe on the fishina lake
  • Little Grebe trilling on the lagoon
  • 3 Mute Swan, c100 Canada Goose, 20 Greylag Goose, c20 Mallard, c40 Tufted Duck, 10 Gadwall, 6 Pochard, Coot, c10 Moorhen
  • Kestrel
  • 200+ Black Headed Gull, 50+ Common Gull, 2 Lesser Black Backed Gull
  • 17 Lapwing on the island
  • Skylark singing behind the lagoon, 10 Pied Wagtail together on the golf course
  • 100+ Wood Pigeon, 4 Stock Dove, 2 Collared Dove, 1 Feral Pigeon
  • Green Woodpecker
  • c40 Fieldfare, 2 Redwing, 2 singing Song Thrush, 5 Blackbird, several Robin, 3 singing Dunnock, 3 singing Wren
  • 3 pairs of Great Tit, many Blue Tits, 1 small party of Long Tailed Tit
  • 5 Greenfinch, few Chaffinch, 1 Goldfinch
  • Starling, Carrion Crow, Magpie
  • 3 Reed Bunting (2 singing males, 1 female)
  • c25 Waxwing flew over the golf course... 1 heard trilling by the railway line but could not re-locate. (42 Species - Daniel Erickson-Hull/Tony Leaderman)

Ilford, Northbrook Road:

  • Blackcap (Barbara Miller)
Roding Valley Park, Woodford Bridge:
  • c6 Redwings, 3 Song Thrush,
  • 2 Goldfinches, pair of Long-tailed Tits,
  • Common Gull (Alan Hobson)
South Woodford:
  • garden sightings:
  • 3 Blue Tit
  • 19 Herring Gull with 1 Yellow Legged Gull overhead (yellow legs very obvious)
  • 1 Robin
  • 2 House Sparrow (Samuel Bird)

Valentines Park:

  • c80 Redwing, 2 Song Thrush, 1 singing Mistle Thrush
  • 10 Siskin
  • Green Woodpecker
  • Grey Heron (Barbara Miller)
  • 5 Mistle thrushes,10 Redwing,
  • Long Tailed Tits nestbuilding,
  • 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Coal Tit,
  • 100 plus flock of Starlings feeding on the grass, (Russ Sherriff)

Wanstead Flats:

  • no sign of yesterdays Med Gull
  • 16 Mute Swan and 8 Greylag Goose on Alexandra Lake
  • Pied Wagtail (Jonathan Lethbridge)

Wanstead Park:

  • Water Rail at the west end of Perch Pond (Steve Thorpe/Kathy Hartnett)
  • Lesser Spotted Woodpecker drumming in large Oak near the Temple, both birds very showy (Steve Thorpe)
  • 2 Cormorants up a tree, 3 Ring Necked Parakeet, Green Woodpecker, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, Grey Heron, 5 Shoveler (Peter Gordon)
Woodford Bridge, Vicarage Road:
  • Mistle Thrush (Alan Hobson)
Woodford Green, Snakes Lane East:
  • Lesser Black Backed Gull
