Ray Park:

  • Red Kite (over the playing fields at the northern end of the park, and being mobbed by Crows) - first of the year

Roding Valley Park, Woodford Bridge:

  • Little Egret
  • Lesser Redpoll
  • pr Mute Swan
  • pr Mistle Thrushes
  • Long Tailed Tit
  • Kingfisher in the northern section (Alan Hobson)

Somewhere:

  • pr RuddyDucks (site undisclosed, as I do not approve of the cull, however, please note that these birds have been reported from a site where they are not usually present, not the usual, also undisclosed site). If you want to see them, and are not planning to shoot them, call me.

South Woodford:

  • House Sparrow Census: Maybrook Road (3 male), Mulberry Way (6 male, 1 female) (DEH)

Wanstead Flats:

  • 5 Reed Bunting (3m, 2f)
  • 8 Lesser Redpoll, 10 Goldfinch, 10 Greenfinch, singing Chaffinch
  • 8 Meadow Pipit (3 singing males), 10 Skylark,

  • 2 Little grebe, 6 Shoveler, 42 Gadwall,

Wanstead Park:

  • 2 Teal, 2 Pochard, 5 Shoveler, Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe
  • Siskin 4 Goldrest (Nick Croft)

Old Chigwellians, Roding Lane, Chigwell: (just outside the borough)

  • Buzzard (1 or 1 Buzzards regularly seen over the school grounds, being chased by crows) (Steve Amos)
