Roding Valley Park, South Woodford:

  • 3 Little Egret! I've never seen more than 1 there before so 3 is pretty good.
  • 1 Sparrowhawk being chased by a Crow - came out of some bushes right in front of me when I was looking at some finches in a bush (probably what the hawk had been doing before the Crow chased it away..)
  • 1 Chiffchaff .
  • No sign of the Water Rails...
  • Then all the usuals - Mallards, Tufted duck (still there 3 weeks on), Blackbirds, Wrens, Long Tailed tits, Great tits, Blue tits, Pair of Jays, Magpies, Crows, Robins, Moorhens, Chaffinches, Pair of Goldfinch, Woodpigeons, Starlings, Feral pigeon building a nest, (Peter Gordon)

Valentines Park:

  • 2 Little Grebe (Boating lake)
  • 4 Mute Swan, 1 hybrid Greylag type, 1 Canada x Greylag hybrid, 60 Canada Goose, and the family of 5 Egyptian Geese

  • Lesser Spotted Woodpecker [at the east end of the swamp at the east end of Perch Pond],
  • 2 Ring-necked Parakeets, Sparrowhawk, 2 Stock Doves, Goldcrest, 2 Geen Woodpeckers, Jay, pr of Long-tailed Tits, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Mute Swans (Alan Hobson)

Woodford Green:

  • 1 Buzzard over (first of the year) (Tony Brown)

Chigwell: (just outside the borough)

  • 2 Buzzards calling to each other over Old Chigwellians Club (Roding Lane) Steve Amos
