Fairlop Waters:
  • Common Tern over the boating lake briefly (DEH)

South Woodford, garden:

  • juvenile Woodpigeon and Collared Dove in the garden this morning (PGordon)
Valentines Park:
  • Only 3 Egyptian Goose young showing
  • Little Grebe with 4 young (one poorly ) on Boating Lake
  • Great Crested Grebe still sitting - must be hard boiled by now.
  • 2 Mute Swan cygnets on water, others hopefully on the now overgrown island.
  • Adult Heron present on Fish Pond. (P Hopkins)
  • juvenline fledged Green Woodpecker feeding on the grass. (Barbara J)
  • although the Egyptian Geese appeared to be 1 duckling down.... the Great Crested Grebe is now 1 Greblette up!... finally after months of sitting, then not sitting, then moving, then...it hatched today! (GWare)

Wanstead Flats:

  • All the usuals out and about:
  • Little owl
  • 7 green woodpeckers, incl 3 together, 6 Great Spotted Woodpeckers incl 3 in same tree
  • whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroats
  • blue and great tits, greenfinch, 2 wrens
  • 2 Ring Necked Parakeets
  • meadow pipit, robin, blackbird, skylarks, cormorants over, mallards over,
  • sparrowhawk over, carrion crows, starlings, jackdaws, jays, magpie, woodpigeon, collared dove, swifts, sparrows, dunnock (Sally Hammond)

Woodford, Epping Forest:

  • juvenile Green Woodpecker (PGordon)

Woodford Green, garden:

  • 16 Ring Necked Parakeet flew over the garden (Tony Brown)
