Fairlop Gravel Works:
  • south side of Painters Road:
  • 5 Shelduck, Teal, 2 Shoveler, Gadwall, Little Grebe
  • Coot on nest
  • 7 Canada Geese on nests still
  • 5 Swallow
  • 8 Lapwing, Common Sandpiper, 2 Redshank
  • 7 Yellow Wagtail (6 male, 1 female)
  • 3 Linnet, 3 Reed Bunting (2 males, feeding off the gravel with wagtails, 1 female in trees)
Gants Hill, Roll Gardens:
  • garden sightings: House Sparrows - 7 Adults & 2 Fledged chicks around garden pond being fed insects & bathing briefly early afternoon. (First garden fledglings for this year)!
  • Swifts - 10 directly over garden & 2 screeching along road at roof top level.
  • Grey Heron - 1 over garden at 4.30pm.
  • Blackbird - 1
  • Blue Tits - 3, Great tits - 2
  • Greenfinches - 5
  • Collared Dove - 1
  • Magpies - 2
  • Dunnock - Heard Singing, Wren - Heard Singing
  • Starlings - 6
  • Robin -1
  • Woodpigeons - 2

Valentines Park:
  • Grey Heron and Egyptian Geese families doing well
  • 2 pairs of Pochard on the baoting lake
  • 3 Great Crested Grebe
  • 3 Blackcap, 1 Willow Warbler (in song)
  • 2 Song Thrush (in song)
  • 2 Stock Dove
  • Goldcrest (in song) (PHopkins)
Wanstead Flats:
  • f Whinchat,
  • 11 Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat, male Garden Warbler,
  • Yellow Wagtail NW,
  • c8 Swift NW, 3 Swallow NE. (SFisher)

Wanstead Park:

  • River Roding area: 3 Little Egret (S Fisher)
Leyton, Cann Hall Road: (just outside the borough)
  • f Sparrowhawk, Hobby SW (c13.30), 10+ Swift, 2 Sand Martin SW (S Fisher)
