Wanstead Flats:
  • Dartford Warbler still east of Centre road c15:20,
  • 2 Stonechat in same area.
  • Also 2 Teal, 6 Shoveler, 50+ Common Gull, 5 Herring Gull, 10+ Lesser Black Backed Gull, 1 adult Great Black Backed Gull (rare here),
  • 2 Kestrel,
  • 2 Pied Wagtail, 8 Meadow Pipit, Song Thrush,
  • 2 Green Woodpecker,
  • 27 Ring Necked Parakeet over heading north,
  • 2 Goldfinch, 10+ Greenfinch,
  • 500+ Starling,
  • 3 Jay, 2 Jackdaw (J Lethbridge).
Fairlop Gravel Works:
  • pair of Mute Swans
  • Mallards, 7 Shoveler, 10+ Teal, Coot, Moorhens, Tufted Ducks
  • 70+ Lapwings (plus more in adjacent fields)
  • 12 Snipe, Green Sandpiper
  • 17 Linnet, 5 Meadow Pipit, 2 Skylark, 10+ Pied Wagtail
  • 1 Rook surprisingly present 'with' but not socially, the murder of Carrion Crows
  • 3 adult Great Black Backed Gulls with the mixed flock of Lesser Black Backed, Herring, Common and Black Headed Gulls. (DEH)
Wanstead Park
  • pm: 2 Firecrest calling with large flock of (mainly) Long-tailed tits from Reservoir Wood towards dusk,
  • Also Goldcrest and Coal Tit amongst them.
  • 11 Pochard, 14 Tufted Ducks, 8 Gadwall (S Fisher)
  • Kingfisher on Heronry Pond (Jim Martin)

Gants Hill:

  • Sparrowhawk - Seen at 10.10am flying over back gardens.
  • Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 male
  • Goldfinches - c3
  • House Sparrows - c8
  • Greenfinches - c4
  • Chaffinches - c3
  • Blue tits - c3
  • Robin - 1
  • Magpies - c3
  • Collaed Dove - 1
  • Wren - 1
  • Feral Pigeons - c6
