Fairlop Gravel Works:
  • quick view of the northern site from the farmland.
  • Sedge Warbler singing, lots of Whitethroat too
  • Green Woodpecker calling
  • Mute Swan still on nest
  • Mallard, female Gadwall, Great Crested Grebe
  • lots of Swifts
  • 2 pairs of Lapwing guarding nests.
  • several Skylark singing.
  • Robin, Great Tit, Willow Warbler, Chaffinch, male Reed Bunting.

Fairlop Waters:

  • the 3 Greylag Geese families are hanging around together like a nursery, total of 17 chicks between them
  • Mute Swans, lots of Mallards with chicks, Canada Geese, several with goslings, Great Crested Grebe on the main lake and Little Grebe on the lagoon. Coot and Moorhen galore.
  • 2 more Green Woodpecker on the golf course
  • at least 20 Whitethroat around the site, also, Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler.
  • fledged Robins near the remote control cars.
  • Linnets carrying nesting material on the plain
  • (total of 5 Linnet seen)
  • Chaffinch and Blue Tit seen carrying food
  • 10+ Skylark on the farmland/plain
  • many Pheasants calling.
  • Common Sandpiper on the island.
  • 3 Reed Bunting on the plain. and by the lagoon.
  • Reed Warbler singing at the fishing lake.
  • male Kestrel by the stables
  • lots of Swallows and Swifts.
  • Also: Lesser Black Backed Gull, 2 Grey Heron, Carrion Crow, Jay, Magpie, 10+ Collared Dove, pr Stock Dove, Wood Pigeon, Feral Pigeon, House Sparrow, Starling, Pied Wagtail,
Wanstead Flats:
  • pair of Egyptian Geese grazing near Alexandra Lake (PF via Wanstead Wildlife)
