Woodford Bridge:
  • 2 Canada Geese were back on the pond by St. Pauls Church with about 30 Mallard and 4 Moorhen.

Snaresbrook:

  • Mistle Thrush on the Grass between Woodford Road and The Drive.

Eagle Pond:

  • 22 Shoveler! with a few Tufted, Pochard, Gadwall, Mallard, Moorhen, Coot, and the Canada Goose flock.
  • Grey Heron walking along the east end.

Wanstead Flats:

  • Jubilee Pond Wildfowl: 25 Canada Geese, 30 Mallard, 7 Tufted Duck, 7 Pochard, 4 Shoveler, 7 Coot, 3 Gadwall.
  • Pied Wagtail around the edge of the pond, and at least 2 Skylarks in song 'somewhere'
  • Alexandra Lake: 109 Canada Geese, 4 Greylag Geese, 2 Mute Swan, 2 Shoveler and a few Mallard, Coot, Tufted Duck and Moorhen
  • Grey Heron flying over.
  • Pied Wagtails and Greenfinches both singing away...
  • over 1000 Gulls on the flats, mostly Black Headed and Common Gulls.
Claybury Park:
  • Merlin taking prey near Wensleydale Avenue, south of Claybury Park this morning. (Peter Hopkins)
Fairlop Waters:
  • 100+ Canada Geese, spread out in small groups onthe golf course, the riding school field, the gravel works, the main lake and surrounding fields. Also 4 Greylag Geese.
  • 2 Mute Swan, 50+ Teal, 22 Shoveler and 22 Gadwall on the works site with smaller numbers of Mallard, Tufted Duck, Pochard, and the Shelduck is still present.
  • Great Crested Grebe on the Fishing Lake and Little Grebe on the Works.
  • Cormorant flying over.
  • 400+ Lapwing, 14 Golden Plover, 22 Snipe, and 1 Green Sandpiper on the works, and another Snipe on Fairlop Plain.
  • 3 Pheasant.
  • 3 Green Woodpecker.
  • 4 Meadow Pipits, 2 Reed Bunting, 4 Pied Wagtail, and 2+ Skylark.
  • Kestrel hunting over the gravel works.
  • Huge flock of several hundred Wood Pigeon.
