Woodford Green Ponds: Johnston Road
  • 16 Canada Geese, 12 Mallard and 2 Moorhen on the 1/2 frozen pond opposite the Royal Mail in Woodford Green

Woodford Green Ponds: Links Road

  • 2 Mallard and 3 Moorhen around the edges of the pond by Woodford Green URC which was completely frozen.
  • Wren flitting from frozen reed to frozen reed.
  • 3 Great Tit, 2 Blue Tit and a Blackbird.

Woodford Green Ponds: Woodford Police Station

  • 2 Coot and 2 Moorhen, on this frozen pond!
  • 2 Great Tit, Robin, Blackbird.

Knighton Wood:

  • The ponds were frozen here too so no sign of the Mandarin, only 2 Moorhen.
  • 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker and 4 Nuthatch.
  • 15 Blue Tit, 10 Great Tit, 4 Long Tailed Tit, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, 9 Blackbird, 7 Robin, 3 Song Thrush, 4 Magpie, 5 Wood Pigeon, Jay and Dunnock in the vicinity of the ponds.

Snaresbrook:

  • 5 Redwing, 1 Mistle Thrush and 1 Goldfinch feeding on the grass on Woodford Road.

Eagle Pond:

  • 5 Mute Swan, including 1 adult very persuasively trying to chase off a juvenile.
  • 74 Canada Geese, 72 Tufted Duck, 12 Mallard, 8 Shoveler, 4 Pochard, 2 Gadwall, 31 Coot and 2 Moorhen. this pond was about 1/3 frozen

Wanstead Flats:

  • Wildfowl count on the 1/2 frozen Alexandra Lake was: 148 Canada Geese, 2 Greylag Geese, 15 Mallard, 2 Tufted Duck, 5 Shoveler, 4 Coot and 8 Moorhen.
  • Severel hundred Gulls which were mostly Black Headed and Common.
  • 130 Feral Pigeons
  • Great Spotted Woodpecker on the island.
