Clayhall:
- Green woodpecker seen in Clayhall garden, 12.20 approx. (MScott)
- 6 Moorhen were the only 'wildfowl' as it was totally frozen over
- 1 Grey Heron on the field east of the gravel works
- c50 Lapwing,
- grand total of 38 Snipe flushed from the restored field south of the gravel stock pile (site record)
- 2 male Kestrel having a sparring match mid air - 1 hit the floor, then flew up into a tree, where it joined a Peregrine that was in the tree. after a while the Peregrine flew off low over the site, then into another tree in Hargreaves Scout camp
- c10 Skylark over
- also: 1 male Pheasant, Pied Wagtail, 1 Dunnock, c30 Starling, 40 Fieldfare, few Redwing, Magpie and 100 Carrion Crows (DEH)
- 250 Canada Geese flew onto the ice (boating lake), landed very poorly, taking out gulls like skittles. It was jokes!. (24 Greylag Geese among them)
- 2 Little Grebe on the fishing lake with 22 Gadwall
- 1 adult Greater Black Backed Gull, 22 Lesser Black Backed Gull, c150 Common Gull, c400 Black Headed Gull, 5 (or so) Herring Gull
- c60 Coot mostly by the southern outflow, c20 Moorhens scattered about (including in trees).
- 21 Wigeon, 7 Teal, 6 Pochard, 10 Tufted Duck, c20 Mallard,
- 7 Golden Plover, flock of Lapwing on the field behind St. PeterS Church
- Sparrowhawk
- c50 Fieldfare, c20 Redwing, Mistle Thrush, Blackbirds, Robin, Wren, Dunnock, 2 Pied Wagtail, c10 Blue Tit, c20 Long Tailed Tit in 2 parties, one of which contained 4 Goldcrest, Pheasant on the gravelled island, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Green Woodpecker,
- 3 Reed Bunting, Meadow Pipit (DEH, TLachhar, AThomas, NTwford) (let me know if i forgot any of your species guys...)
- House Sparrow, 2 Collared Dove, 5 Greater Black Backed Gulls (Emma Charles)
- Also: 30 Wigeon; Sparrowhawk; Buzzard; Kestrel; 170 Fieldfare; 95 Redwing (BJ)
- 66+ Fieldfare (se), 6 Redwing, 24 Goldfinch, 2 Reed Bunting, 30+ Jackdaw, 2 Pied Wagtail, 14 Shoveler, 3 Tufted Duck, Goldcrest etc. (Tim Harris/Nick Croft)
- m Goshawk (west through Res Wood - NC), Sparrowhawk,
- 5 Lesser Redpoll, 30+ Siskin, 18 Linnet, Reed Bunting, 2 Snipe, 8 Redwing, 2 Song Thrush, Teal (1 on R Roding - TH, 1 the Dell - NC), Shoveler, Gadwall, Tufted Duck (1 on the R Roding - unusual!), 3 Egyptian Goose (juvenile getting the brush off from the resident pair), Pochard, 6 Little Grebe, 2 Grey Heron, Water Rail and a cast of many more (45sp [51 in all] - NC/TH)

- Mistle Thrush telling 2 Blue Tits to get out of his tree.
