Ilford, Ingleby Road:
female Sparrowhawk surveying feeders from tree this morning – the finches, tits and Great Spotted had all made themselves scarce though. We've noticed when the Great Spotted is on the feeder it always seems to be nervously looking skywards (JCrick)
- Snipe (flew over Redbridge Lakes),
- Jay, small flock of Long-tailed Tits,
- 2 Mute Swans (first time I've seen them on this stretch of river for many months),
- flock of around 20 Common Gulls (AH)
- 20 Siskin with the goldfinch flock along the alder coridor (BarbaraJ)
- Teal over ENE (JL)
- 5 Pochard (jub), 9 Tufted Duck (2 jub, 7 Alex), 9 Shoveler, 5 Greylag Goose (west),
- Barnacle Goose (really wary allowed me to within 2 feet, which I think is the norm),
- Yellow-Legged Gull, Greater Black-backed Gull,
- Redwing, 3 Fieldfare, 20 + Blackbird, 2 Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush,
- Pied Wagtail, 4 Meadow Pipit, 2 Snipe (SSSI), 7 Skylark (east), Collared Dove, 9 Stock Dove (north), Goldcrest etc. (46sp NC)
- 2 Water Rail (Ornamental Waters - Tim Harris, 1 Perch),
- 44 Pochard, 34 Tufted Duck, 9 Shoveler, 54 Gadwall, 4 Teal (including JL's garden tick), 2 Egyptian Goose, 7 Little Grebe,
- 5 Lesser Redpoll, 28 + Siskin,
- 15-20 Redwing (north), Mistle Thrush, Song Thrush,
- 4 Grey Heron,
- Coal Tit, 10 + Goldcrest, Chiffchaff (46 sp [57 sp in total] TH/NC).
- Mistle Thrush, Song Thrush, Goldfinch, Greenfinch in the station car park (AH)
