Gants Hill:
  • Redbridge Institute Car Park - 5 Waxwing feeding on berries (Neil Twyford)

Goodmayes:

  • 30 Waxwing at Goodmayes Station (S.Allen)

Roding Valley Park:

  • Flock of two dozen Redwings, 3 Goldfinches, 2 Long-tailed Tits, up to half a dozen Greenfinches (Alan Hobson)
Wanstead Flats:
  • (07:00-09:00): 2 Siskin, 20+ Greenfinch, 2 singing Chaffinch, 3 Goldfinch, singing Reed Bunting,
  • sub song Redwing (Long Wood + 5 others), singing Mistle Thrush,
  • 2 Meadow Pipit, 3 singing Skylark,
  • 2 Stock Dove, Collared Dove,
  • 12 Shoveler, 26 Tufted Duck, 7 Gadwall, 5 Pochard, 5 Greylag Goose, Grey Heron, Snipe (NC).

Wanstead Park:

  • (09:00-11:00): 2 singing Mistle Thrush, 3 Cormorant, 57 Tufted Duck, 24 Gadwall, 7 Teal (SoM), 2 Egyptian Goose, 3 Pochard, 2 Coal Tit, Goldcrest, Grey Heron, 2 Stock Dove, Grey Wagtail, Kestrel, Siskin, 2 Little Grebe (NC).
  • 14 gadwall, 3 ring necked parakeets, 34 coots, 6 moorhens, 13 mallards, 3 pochards, 2 tufted ducks, 2mute swans *1 Scaup?, 5 canada goose, 2 cormorants fishing (Samuel Bird, aged 8)
  • * possibly the pochard x tufted cross that was at Valentines Park last week? A Valentines birder believes this bird to be a pochard x ferruginous duck? Any more ideas?
