  • 5 Mute Swan, c200 Canada Geese, 18 Greylag Goose
  • 1 surprise dark bellied Brent Goose* on the field behind the fishing lake (with a few Canadas)
  • 2 Cormorant on the jetty
  • 20 Lapwing on the Jetty/Island, and a further 207 Lapwing on Hainault Farm, behind the spit
  • 20 Meadow Pipits and 8 Skylark on the field behind the spit
  • Pied Wagtail
  • 3 Teal on the spit, 5 Gadwall, 7 Pochard, Mallards, Tufted Ducks, 3 Shoveler
  • Coots, Moorhens

  • female Kestrel on a lamp column on Chingwell Road, by the bridge over the Roding (10am) (DEH)
  • 4 Redwing and Goldfinch in the playing field near Roding Lane North
  • 20 Redwing, 8 Greenfinch in Roding Valley Park itself

Valentines Park:

  • Cormorant, Grey Heron,
  • Great Crested Grebe,
  • Kingfisher (boating lake canal)
  • 14 Tufted Duck, 12 Pochard, 1 Shoveller, Mallard, Coot, Moorhen, Canada geese,
  • Common Gulls, Black Headed Gulls, 1 Mediterranean Gull (a good time to view - hood now distinctly black not brown),2 Lesser Black Backed Gulls
  • 2 Egyptian geese grazing
  • 8 Mute Swan including 2nd pair on Long Water
  • 1 Song Thrush nr mansion, 2 Mistle Thrush
  • 1 Jay, 3 Magpies, 50+ Carrion Crows, 10 Jackdaw
  • 2 Blackbirds
  • 3 Goldfinch, 2 Greenfinch,1 Chaffinch, 1 House Sparrow

Woodford Green, Broadmead Estate:

  • 2 Blackbirds singing at 3am this morning!
  • 13 Starling and 10 Wood Pigeon on the field (10am, not 3am!)
  • Blue Tit
* This is the first sightings of Brent Goose at Fairlop Waters since 1991 (19 years ago!)
