Fairlop, Aldborough Riding School:

  • Little Owl in the usual tree 8pm, also seen flying from a post by the stables. (DEH)
Fairlop Gravel Works:
  • 4 Mute Swan (pair on each side of Painters Road), the hen on the north side is now on nest
  • 3 occupied Canada Goose nests located (2 north side, 1 south side)
  • 1 Greylag Goose, 2 Shelduck, 6 Teal, 2 (pr) Pochard, 10 Tufted Duck, 2 (pr) Gadwall, 4 (2prs) Shoveler, 2 (pr) Great Crested Grebe, 4 (2prs) Little Grebe,
  • 9 Lesser Black Backed Gulls

Fairlop Waters CP:

  • 11 Mute Swan on the boating lake and another 2 (nesting) on the lagoon. (it appears that the boating lake has become the location for the non-breeding local swans to congregate as there is no breeding pair on the island this year.
  • male Whinchat in the field between the Stables and the Lagoon
  • Green Woodpecker
  • 3 Pheasant (2 male, 1 female)
  • Whitethroat, Chiffchaff
  • male Sparrowhawk
  • 2 Meadow Pipit
  • 21 Linnet

Wanstead Park:

  • Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat, Willow Warbler,
  • Ring Necked Parakeet,
  • Little Egret (Nick Croft)

Wanstead Flats:

  • Dunlin (am; Jubilee Pond, showing rather well–a patch mega by all accounts),
  • Redstart, 2 Wheatear (female),
  • Pheasant calling from Sidney Road copse
  • 4 Herring Gull, 6 Common Gull, 2 Lesser Black-Backed Gull,
  • Little Owl, Sparrowhawk, Buzzard (heard),
