Barnacle Goose - Rare Visitor (with most sightings probably being from the UKs 1000 strong ferel population)

2010 Sightings: 6 sightings

• February 5th - 1 on Woodford Bridge Pond
• May 23rd - 1 in Valentines Park
• June 4th - 1 on Wanstead Flats
• June 13th - 1 at Fairlop Waters CP
• October 31st - 1 on Wanstead Flats
• December 11th - 1 on Wanstead Flats

Previous Sightings:

• 2009: 12th-18th June, 1 on Wanstead Flats (Alexandra Lake)
• 2005: 8th April, 1 at Fairlop Waters

Historical Information:

Barnacle Geese are reported as having been present (but less than five times) at Hainault Forest pre 2003 by the late Mr. Mike Dennis. Although their origin is unconfirmed.
