- 182 Black Headed Gull (flocks of 34, 23, 54, 14 and 22 moving s. westward), 27 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 6 Herring Gull, 3 Greater Black-backed Gull, 3 Common Gull, 45 Cormorant (over),
- well over 100 Swift over the whole flats, 11 House Martin, 4 Sand Martin, 3 Swallow,
- 3 Sparrowhawk, Kestrel,
- 5 Mistle Thrush, 5 Song Thrush, 6 Robin, 13 Magpie, 7 Jay, c.20+ Jackdaw, Chiffchaff, Whitethroat, Blackcap, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Reed Bunting, 3 Stock Dove, 2 Collared Dove, Little Grebe, etc. etc. 47 species recorded (Nick Croft).
Woodford Green, Mayfield Ave:
- Swifts (few nesting pairs)
- There are a colony of jackdaws who live in the road too, nesting on the chimneypots , incessantly chattering with that lovely metallic boinging call, bickering and generally having fun. (Fiona Hulbert)
