- Grey Heron (north side of painters road)
- Mute Swan pr on each side - still cannot confirm nesting on the north side (south side, nest was flooded)
- Canada Geese - south side 7 geese on nests, north side, 1 on nest 1 pr has hatched 5 goslings
- 5 Shelduck chasing each other off
- Mallard - north side - 1 faimly of 5 ducklings, and another of 2
- 4 Gadwall, 2 Shoveler, male Pochard, c20 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Grebe
- 3 Coots nests
- 10 Lapwing, (displaying and warning me off)
- 2 Redshank still around! Common Sandpiper, at least 4 Little Ringed Plover (all south side)
- 3 (possibly 5) Yellow Wagtail (south side) 2m, 1f (possiby 4m)
- 1 Stock Dove
- south side - 3 Wheatear almost together - 2 female, 1 male
- north side - 2 singing Sedge Warbler and 1 singing Reed Warbler all in the same area
- 4 Whitethroat, Blackcap,
- 3 Song Thrush
- lots of Swift (over 50), 5 Swallow
- 5 Linnet 2 Greenfinch, several Goldfinch and Chaffinch (DEH)
Gants Hill, Roll Gardens:
- Sparrowhawk hunting over
- Great Spotted Woodpecker (AThomas)
- 3rd Adult Mute Swan on Ornamental Lake
- Egyptian Goose family all present and correct
- Mallard brood of 4 on Long Water
- 2 Coot broods of 5 and 6 on the ornamental lake
- singing Goldcrest by Long Water (DEH)

- pr Woodpigeon, Magpie, Jay briefly

- Grey Heron being mobbed by Carrion Crow overhead

- I was especially pleased that the Blue Tits had nested successfully as our new extension meant demolishing the old outhouse where we'd a had blue tit nest for the last three years. I blocked up the hole in the winter to stop them nesting so I'm glad they've found somewhere else. We also had to relocate a hedgehog but I found him again a few days ago so he seems ok. The garden birds seem to have got a bit more used to the builders and turn up the minute they stop for lunch! (Barbara J)
